S-Jog is a graphical user interface designed specifically for the Sony VAIO Jog Wheel, providing a more intuitive and user-friendly experience for navigating through your computer's applications and functions.
S-Jog pops up whenever the Jog Wheel moves and disappears after three seconds of inactivity, saving desktop space. Its goal is to provide Linux users with an intuitive graphical application for managing their Jog-Dial wheel on Sony Vaio laptops. This software utilizes the Sony Programmable I/O driver in recent 2.4.x kernels or the legacy SPIC driver, included in the S-Jog distribution.
At present, S-Jog is capable of launching applications defined in the sjogrc file and adjusting both the screen's brightness and the master volume setting of the sound card. In addition, it enables the Jog-Dial to function similarly to a mousewheel and runs discreetly in the background.
This updated version of S-Jog includes an updated documentation file in the form of README and sjog.1. With S-Jog, Sony Vaio laptop users can easily manage their system's Jog Wheel with just a few clicks.
