SoftAdapter's AppMixer SDK offers a speedy solution to uniting your Visual C++/MFC application with other programs such as MS Access, Excel, and .NET Framework. It serves as a more efficient alternative to add-ins, ActiveX, and other COM-based technologies.
The AppMixer SDK is primarily intended for non-COM-based executable MFC MDI Document/View applications to transform them into sub-applications. After making some simple modifications via AppMixer, your application becomes capable of working within the frame of MS Access, MS Excel or .NET Framework applications.
By using AppMixer, you can create a composite application with seamless integration of sub-applications. This composite application appears as either an MFC or mainframe application, depending on which MDI child window is active.
There are two main features of AppMixer:
1) The provision of a base API for programmers to create and manage the sub-application;
2) When formed into a sub-application, the AppMixer engine performs several critical tasks, such as substituting the main application's frame for the native frame of the MFC sub-application, controlling GUI of the composite application, and providing MFC-compatibility.
AppMixer accomplishes all of these functions automatically without requiring the programmer's assistance. Therefore, by using the AppMixer SDK, you can quickly and easily build the foundation of complex integrated solutions based on the combined use of MS Office, .NET and Visual C++/MFC technologies.
