Seashore is a user-friendly, open-source image editing software that is designed to work on the Cocoa platform. It facilitates the creation of high-quality images and provides a range of editing tools.
Seashore is comparable to GIMP's technology, making it a reliable choice for graphic designers, marketers, and other professionals who need advanced image editing capabilities. It also supports multiple layers and individual channel editing, which enhances its versatility.
Seashore also boasts a full range of transparency effects, allowing you to achieve semi-transparent gradients and other custom effects with ease. Additionally, it supports several file formats, including the GIMP's native XCF format, TIFF, PNG, JPEG, and JP2000. Some additional file formats, like BMP and GIF, are available for read-only support as well.
With over 20 merging effects and other features like arbitrary selection regions and anti-aliased brush strokes, Seashore is packed with robust capabilities. Six basic gradient effects with 16 variations, tablet support, and ColorSync support (including embedded profiles in TIFF formats and CMYK previewing) are also included.
Currently undergoing development, Seashore is the perfect tool for users on Mac OS 10.3 and later. However, JP2000 support requires Mac OS 10.4 or later. Additionally, the software also supports plug-in filters to further enhance your image editing capabilities.
