SetiLinDriver is a software tool designed to store SETI@home project work units on Linux systems, making it easier to manage and complete workloads efficiently.
To configure the program, you'll need to follow a few steps. First, create a working directory (such as /usr/local/setiathome). Next, copy the "setilindriver" executable into the working directory and set its permission to 755. Open the "setilindriver" file and edit the 3 parameters: $SETIDIR, $SETIPARAM, $SETINUM. $SETIDIR should be set to the working directory you created earlier. $SETIPARAM is a parameter to pass to the setiathome command (recommended only -stop_after_process). $SETINUM is the number of WU you want to cache.
After setting those parameters, you'll need to create directories for each WU you want to cache (e.g., "1", "2", and "3" if you set $SETINUM to 3). Then, copy the setiathome executable into each WU directory. Initialize each cache manually, and create the setilindriver.lwu file in the main working directory. Once that's done, your configuration is complete! Just run setilindriver to use the tool. Overall, SetiLinDriver is a helpful tool if you're participating in the SETI@home project, and its caching capabilities are a convenient feature for Linux users.
