Shtoom is a Python-based VoIP softphone that runs on multiple platforms and is open-source.
In terms of user interfaces, the softphone offers several options: Cocoa (OS X), Qt/KDE, Gtk/GNOME, wxWidgets, Tk, and command line. Audio support is available on Linux with OSS or ALSA, on OS X through native CoreAudio, and on all other systems through the PortAudio library. Pythonwin has also integrated a native sound driver for Windows, though it needs to be plugged in.
