Simple IPTABLES is a basic firewall created using essential iptables commands to offer minimum protection to the system.
Currently, Simple IPTABLES only permits ident (port 113) requests. Additionally, FTP will only function in PASV mode from the client side, while IRC DCC sends and chats initiated behind the firewall are blocked. However, incoming DCC requests will work. If you want to DCC chat from behind the firewall, use /ctcp nick chat).
ICQ may also not work properly with this firewall, although you can still send messages. This is a standalone script that assumes kernel support and modules. All in all, Simple IPTABLES is a straightforward and effective option for those who need a simple firewall.
