Slax AoE LiveCD is a CD that can be booted and includes both AoE target and iniziator programs for easy accessibility.
Using the software is simple. Just boot from the CD, log in as the root user with the password “toor,” and choose from three available options. You can use the vblade command to export a partition as vblade 0 0 eth0 /dev/sda2. Alternatively, you can choose to daemonize the vblade program with vbladed, which will direct output to the logger program, or utilize the vbladectl tool, which is designed for people who want to quickly and easily launch vblade without entering extensive commands.
To change shelving, slot number, network adapter, or logging destination, use the export function, which allows the user to modify and save these settings. If you want to stop exporting, input the command “vbladectl stop sda4.” To reset the slot number and other parameters to their default settings, you can remove the file /var/run/vblademem.
The new release includes upgrades to Slax version 5.1.8, vblade version 13, and nmap version 4.11, all of which aim to enhance the software’s stability and performance. Additionally, the standard Slackware rc.inet1 was added, and users can easily set up static IP addresses if they choose to install the distribution onto a hard drive.
Overall, Slax AoE LiveCD is a useful, user-friendly tool for AoE server/client management, and its recent upgrades have made it a reliable and efficient option for those looking to perform AoE-related tasks.
