SlideViewer is a software that offers automated image viewing capabilities.
The viewing speed is user-controllable both at the start of the program and during viewing through the front-panel controls. The software's maximum window size fits the images, so users can view them in full-screen mode or smaller sizes while preserving their aspect ratio. SlidViewer ensures no distortion of images occurs during a change of window size.
SlideViewer's features differ from other image-displayers because it automatically descends directory branches, shows images from multiple directories automatically, maximally fits images in the viewing window, and gives users total sequencing control. The software expects a directory name or a list of directory names in the invocation command-line; if none is given, it automatically uses the current directory.
SlideViewer has a useful interactive mode that enables users to launch the software by clicking on a launcher icon. In this mode, SlideViewer opens a file-browser first, allowing users to navigate and select a directory of pictures. It also provides graphical repeat and shuffle modes instead of command-line options for ease of use. The interactive control pop-up window is available at all times and in all modes by clicking the question mark (?) button on the lower right panel.
SlideViewer has several options for users to customize their viewing experience. These include restricting file search depth, skipping images, setting an initial viewing period, repeatedly sequencing through images forever, randomizing the order of the images, and listing all available options when in need of help.
SlideViewer is a software that requires Otk to run. The latest version has fixed a small memory leak on iscz-compressed images.
