Smooth Weather is a customizable weather screenlet that allows users to tailor weather information to their needs.
This software package includes the Blue theme for ClearWeather, as well as a theme developed by the creator, which is based on the Blue theme but comes with Shiny icons. The software requirements include GNOME and Screenlets for installation.
Upon downloading, you will need to extract the contents of the archive to the .screenlets directory under your home directory. Alternatively, if you want to share the screenlet with other users on the same system, then you would need to extract the contents of the archive to /usr/local/share/screenlets/.
For upgrades, you should close the SmoothWeather screenlet if it's running and delete the SmoothWeather directory from your .screenlets or /usr/local/share/screenlets/ directory. Afterward, extract the contents of the updated version to the screenlets directory and replace the old version.
Some upcoming features that are being worked on for future releases include audible and visual alerts for severe or warning weather conditions, an audible description of the current weather conditions, and condition descriptions when mousing over a day weather icon. It's important to note that these features are not guaranteed to be added in the next release.
Finally, the latest release of the software has fixed a stability issue, ensuring a seamless experience for its users.
