Snes9Express is a graphical interface for the SNES9X emulator designed to simplify and streamline gameplay control.
The requirements for snes9express are simple - you need to have GTK+ installed, and snes9x is optional. However, the latest version of snes9express comes with some major changes and improvements that are worth mentioning.
In the latest release, some bugs that caused crashes have been fixed, which is always great news. The developers also added a Thread Sound option in the Sound settings and new TV-mode options. The configure problem with libpng has been resolved, as well.
Another highlight of the latest version is the improved skins. They are now larger and use gdk-pixbuf instead of libpng. The "Last output" window and About dialog have also been improved. Plus, the joystick button mapper is new and may be improved compared to the previous versions.
One thing to note is that GTK 1.x is no longer supported. You need to have GTK 2.x to use snes9express. But, if you meet the requirements, this software could be an excellent choice for all your SNES gaming needs.
