The SoC GDS project is a streaming software that enables System-on-a-Chip Graphic Displays to operate seamlessly.
SoC GDS also provides unrestricted zoom functions, and users can configure layer display attributes. Additionally, users can make use of restricted hierarchy navigation and load Cadence techfiles. The software has two main options: SoC GDS View and SoC GDS Multi Frame.
SoC GDS View is ideal for entry-level users and provides optimized GDSII display capabilities with color and pattern configuration file compatibility with Cadence. On the other hand, SoC GDS Multi Frame takes things to the next level, with advanced hierarchical navigation, input format support complemented with OpenAccess and LEF, and (VC)LEF generation.
To verify layouts, SoC GDS Multi Frame offers hierarchical graphic cell comparison and hierarchical display of nets annotated by SoC GDS Contrast. Furthermore, it slashes load-times to deliver unmatched verification and validation technology.
SoC GDS Integrator is another option that enables socket creation and verification for system-level integration of ViCs (Virtual Components). With it, users can accelerate delivery of layouts through LVS socket creation improvements and hierarchical geometrical cell comparison.
SoC GDS Contrast is coupled with SoC GDS Integrator, and it offers "Virtual Test & Diagnostic" before manufacturing test chips through our patented eMicroscope technology. The tool enables users to superimpose simulation results from extracted netlists directly onto the layout for a quicker, more streamlined development cycle.
In terms of new features, SoC GDS has improved its layer configuration window to show layer and data type numbers in the loaded map table as well as unmapped layers. The latest release also implements an abstract versus layout comparator to automatically compare macros in a LEF with the corresponding GDSII cell, based on comparison of obstruction and port geometries. SoC GDS is now available under Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4 in 64-bit mode as well.
