SocNetV is a C++/Qt-based Linux desktop application designed to create and analyze social network graphs, facilitating visual representation of relationships between individuals and allowing for the exploration and measurement of network properties.
The application adheres to the K.I.S.S (Keep it simple, stupid) directive, ensuring a simplistic yet efficient interface. It is a completely stand-alone software application with no peculiar library dependencies, except for Qt4, making it easy to install and use.
SocNetV effortlessly computes network and actor properties such as distances, centralities, diameter, and so on. The program also lets the user create simple random networks (lattice, same degree, etc).
It is essential to take note that this software application does not guarantee efficiency, correctness, or usability, though it is relatively useful in analyzing social networks.
Installation of SocNetV is quite straightforward. Merely download the tarball and untar it. Then, access the new directory and run the command qmake-qt4 (or whichever location the Qt4 libs are). Lastly, compile and start the software application by running the command make, cd bin ./socnetv.
