Sopeq is a firewall for IPTables that filters ingress and egress traffic. Its configuration is made easy with a rules file. It operates stealthily.
Using Sopeq, you can configure the accept/droplog/rejectlog/log options for packets that match certain criteria. For instance, you can set your rules to accept, drop and log, reject and log, or only log the packet with a given "lbl" variable.
Other options include the ability to specify the network interface the packet is travelling over (plus the option to match packets NOT travelling over an interface), whether the rule is looking at packets coming in or going out, and the protocol of the packet (TCP, UDP, ICMP or all protocols).
You can also specify which IP addresses and ports are allowed, with support for multiple IP addresses and IP ranges. The extras field lets you add any additional iptables options you need.
With the addition of the "version" option, a minor alteration to how iptables is called, and some code cleanup, this release of Sopeq offers an even smoother user experience. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a reliable and configurable firewall solution.
