Soulfind: a free server program for Soulseek network.
The homepage for Soulfind provides all the information you need to know about this program. Additionally, there is a new #slsk-gpl room on Freenode (irc.freenode.net), where you can find more information and assistance. Unfortunately, the developer can only be there as often as possible because of 50H/month dial-up.
Soulfind is coded using D programming language and released under the GNU General Public License. It started as a basic chat-only Soulseek server on a lazy Sunday afternoon, but it was easier than what the developer had expected. So they went on and implemented the full protocol, and gave it the name "Soulfind" after people complained about how the official server did not return enough results.
The server supports all clients except the official Windows one, which may still work but requires some trickery to make it connect to another server on another port. The Windows client also checks for an MD5sum in the server answer, which this server does not send.
What's new in the latest release is that it compiles with DMD 0.155, and supports the new server-handled room and buddy searches. Many minor bugs have also been fixed, including an important one about privileges - where giving some privileges to another user did not add to their existing privileges, but replaced them.
Overall, Soulfind is an excellent program for anyone looking for a Soulseek server implementation that works perfectly on any operating system without any issues.
