Sound Keys is an Adobe After Effects plug-in that generates keyframes.
One thing that sets Sound Keys apart from other keyframe generators in AE (such as Wiggler and Motion Sketch) is that it's applied as a regular effect, generating its own keyframes in the output parameters. These keyframes can then be linked with an expression or copied into place. This approach allows you to save all settings for the plug-in with the project, making it more practical and efficient.
While After Effects 6.0 already includes a new keyframe generator "Convert Audio to Keyframes", Sound Keys offers a number of advantages over it. For instance, it can extract keyframes from specific frequency ranges, unlike the latter that extracts only overall amplitude. Sound Keys also offers different falloff modes, giving you more control over the final output.
Some of the key features of Sound Keys include an easy-to-use visual interface, 32-band adjustable spectrum, instant, linear and exponential falloff, adjustable output range, and extensive documentation in the form of manuals and tutorials. It's available for purchase online and can be run on Mac OS, Mac OSX, and Windows.
To use Sound Keys, all you need is Adobe After Effects 5.0 or higher. It's a must-have tool for anyone looking to create intricate and compelling audio-driven animations quickly and easily.
