Space Opera is a turn-based software that allows players to explore the galaxy.
One of the standout features of Space Opera is that you can colonize and improve your colonies with over 50 different buildings at your disposal. Additionally, you can build fleets of strong and fast ships out of over 30 components and research more than 50 technologies. You can even attack your computer opponents! Difficulty levels range from kindergarden (easy) to impossible to ensure that every player can have an enjoyable experience.
To play Space Opera, you'll need version 1.4.1 or later of the Java Runtime Environment, version 2.1.1 of the Java Media Framework (for sound and animations), and a Xerxes 1 or 2 installation for XML support. Once you have these requirements, it's easy to install the game. Simply create a new working directory and store the SpaceOpera.jar and the SpaceOpera_Resources.jar files in it. Then, unpack the SpaceOpera_Resources.jar file to subdirectories for animations, effects, images, and music.
To run Space Opera, just use the java -jar SpaceOpera.jar command (with JRE 1.4+) and enjoy the game! One of the latest updates to the game includes a toolbar, along with new functions such as setting ship orders, show events, animations, and sound. Overall, I would highly recommend this game to anyone who enjoys strategic gameplay and space exploration.
