Space Hulk is a Warhammer 40000 board game that immerses players in a sci-fi world filled with danger and adventure.
This particular video game is a full conversion of the board game, utilizing the 2nd edition rules. Some discussion exists among fans regarding the superiority of either the 1st or 2nd edition rules, but as a player who has only experienced the latter, I can confirm that this is the basis for the game. If you're looking for a way to enjoy Space Hulk on your computer, this project is an ideal option, allowing you to replicate the experience of playing with the actual board game, while adding some extra functionality. You can also participate in synchronized or asynchronous play via email, or go head-to-head with an AI opponent if you prefer a solo experience. Presently, the game is limited to HotSeat and Play-By-Email mode.
This game is also freely available as a software download, complete with a GPL license. However, the development team is always on the lookout for more volunteers to help with coding, bug reporting, skin creation, level design, documentation writing, and website maintenance. If you're interested in contributing, you can access the development site for more details.
This release comes with some new bug fixes, such as the problem with diceroll, the transmission of Genestealer orientation during creation, and the mailing issue. Additionally, Unifex has fixed an issue with mail being sent with "n" instead of "rn," and there have been fixes to the newby question that was causing segfault in pbem. All in all, Space Hulk is an excellent option for those who love board games and want to enjoy the action on their computer.
