Sprite Maker captures sprites from video game screen shots, making it easier for users to obtain and use images in their own projects without having to manually extract the sprites.
With Sprite Maker, all you have to do is take two screenshots of the game on different levels. The software will then compare the two and generate an image of the sprite itself on a transparent background. This is great for making clip-art graphics, and it saves you the trouble of having to do it all manually.
One of the new features of this release is the ability to drag the output into Path Finder. Additionally, the background color is now user-configurable (previously, it was hardcoded to an ugly shade of yellow). The output file format (PNG, JPEG, etc.) is also configurable now. The documentation has been updated to include contact information as well.
However, there are still a few issues that need to be resolved. One of them is that Sprite Maker won't automatically detect where the sprite starts in both images. Therefore, they need to start at exactly the same pixel location and be cropped in the same way. But overall, this software is a game-changer for those who work with game sprites.
