SQLGrinder is a user-friendly database utility that simplifies database development through its range of tools. It helps users navigate their SQL databases with ease.
The new version of SQLGrinder, currently in beta testing, features faster overall performance, multiple editor and result set history buffers, code completion using database keywords and table, column, and procedure names, client-side result set searching and sorting, sleep detection, table add, drop, and truncate functionality, improved data import and export, and much more. This release has been rewritten from scratch and is available for $59, with an introductory price of $49.95 during the beta period. Owners of the previous version can upgrade for only $19.
Using SQLGrinder, users can create, edit, and execute SQL statements. They can also browse their database schema. SQLGrinder comes with a SQL Editor that features syntax coloring, a large editing area, and a table for viewing query results, as well as data snapshots to temporarily save result sets. Users can browse the database schema easily with the Schema Browser. This feature allows users to view table columns, indexes, keys, and data, import and export data, and see procedure parameters and scripts with a few clicks.
SQLGrinder includes a SQL Statement Library that enables users to save and organize created queries and view the current SQL statement history for each database used. They can import and export table data, query data, and even database schemas in various ways, from both the SQL Editor and the Schema Browser. Users can automate exports, execute arbitrary SQL statements, and process data using AppleScript and AppleScript Studio, as well.
SQLGrinder has been built using Cocoa and takes full advantage of the technology that makes Mac OS X great. The application requires JDK 1.4 and JDBC driver packages. The trial version of SQLGrinder allows for up to 20 sessions.
