Strato Log Download is a Perl script that allows downloading of logfiles from Strato-hosted websites. It is a small application designed to simplify the process.
With Strato Log Download, users can log in via the SSL-encrypted web interface and download files without needing a web browser. The script supports configurable proxies via the https_proxy environment variable.
Keep in mind that for SSL support, users may need to install additional Perl modules that include crypto stuff. Users can choose between IO::Socket::SSL or Net::SSL in Crypt::SSLeay to enable https access. If the SSL module is missing, then https access will not work.
Using Strato Log Download is user-friendly. After entering the following command, users can easily download their logs: "$ get-logfiles -p mypassword www.mysite.de > logfile.gz"
Furthermore, this release offers a new logfile download protocol because the web interface underwent changes. (Special thanks to J. Puchalla for notifying me! Otherwise, it would have gone unnoticed.)
