Streamers works by rendering streamers, punches, and other visual cues to a transparent window that sits on top of your sequencer's movie window. Events are triggered by MIDI messages (either MIDI notes or Tesla-style sysex) sent to Streamers's virtual MIDI endpoint.
It's compatible with any Mac-based sequencer that can handle MIDI, and requires no special hardware or specific video codecs. Just place the window, choose Streamers as a MIDI device, and go!
Streamers was (to our knowledge) the first program ever to render streamers and punches directly in software, and it remains (to our knowledge) the highest-performing and most flexible software to do so.
Now that tradition of innovation is continued in version 2, which introduces even more cutting-edge features. A new free-time clock syncs to incoming MIDI Time Code (MTC), and displays streamers along the second hand. Streamers and punches have adjustable opacity. You may also render Streamers in ADR-style.
