StreamRecorder is a user-friendly Amarok script that allows you to effortlessly record streaming content straight onto your computer's hard drive.
Once you install StreamRecorder and run it from the Script Manager, you'll notice that it adds a convenient right-click menu to start and stop recordings. This menu is clearly visible in the included screenshots, making it easy to see exactly how the program works.
You can start recording and listening at the same time with minimal bandwidth consumption, or you can start recording when a playing stream begins by clicking "Record" in the menu. When you choose to stop recording from the menu, or the streaming is paused or stopped, the recording will also stop. Additionally, if you change the stream, the recording will automatically stop as well.
StreamRecorder generates one file for each recording. The format of the file depends on the streaming method, while the name is a timestamp. You can customize certain options, such as the directory where files are saved, by editing the script itself. These parameters are located at the top of the script, making it easy to adjust them to suit your preferences. By default, the program saves files to the /home/Music directory.
Overall, StreamRecorder is an excellent tool for those who want to record streaming audio with ease. It's based on RecordRadio, so you can expect reliable performance and stable operation. Whether you're a novice or an experienced user, StreamRecorder is a great choice that's definitely worth considering.
