Suri Pluma is a tool for processing and visualizing satellite images.
One of the most impressive features of Suri Pluma is its measurement tool that allows users to measure distance and areas with error estimation. Additionally, Suri Pluma provides geographical and map coordinate information, making it an excellent tool for remote sensing.
Suri Pluma is designed using state-of-the-art techniques and tools, making it easy for users to extract information in an intuitive and straightforward way. This software provides users with quantitative and qualitative information immediately. Thus, it takes full advantage of the different satellite sources.
Suri Pluma provides simplified access to different data formats and enables users to export their work in the most commonly used formats. This software takes full advantage of the hardware resources, with very low minimal requirements, making it accessible to users with low-end hardware.
The goal of Suri Pluma is to provide users with high-quality software that is easy to use and brings simple tools for image processing and remote sensing. The software offers a user interface that is intuitive and is a single-document user interface (SDI) for more flexibility. Users can effortlessly navigate between the different functionalities, making it ideal for both beginner and advanced users.
Suri Pluma supports various input file formats, including Fast Format images (including SAC-C and Landsat), Tiff and GeoTiff distributed by CONAE, different formats used by GLCF and other proprietary formats such as the ENVI format. It also supports standard graphic formats like Jpg, Png, and Bmp.
Suri Pluma has various features that enable users to analyze and visualize images effectively. The software provides area and distance measuring tools and planar coordinate and pixel value displaying in real-time. It also offers RGB color composite and grayscale viewing capabilities, zoom in/out capabilities using the wheel on the mouse and flexible navigation with the scroll/zoom windows. Users can also enhance images using linear and nonlinear contrast enhancement and histogram equalization.
Suri Pluma also provides geographic location capabilities that enable automatic recognition of georeferenced meta-data of different formats, making it possible to search for areas of interest by geographic coordinates.
Finally, Suri Pluma exports to different image formats, making it compatible with other analysis tools. Available on Suri Pluma V1.1, the software is developed in C++ in Linux and Windows environments simultaneously and distributed on both systems. The latest release of the software fixed a crash on Ubuntu Gutsy and upgraded wxWidgets to 2.8.
