SVNBot is a monitoring tool for SVN repository that functions as a Jabber bot.
Once you have set up your Jabber account, you can add all the people who should be notified about updates into your contact list. Next, you will need to check out the repository that you want to monitor and save it into a folder. Afterward, the svnbot.ini file needs to be modified with the specific configurations you require; once that's done, run svnbot.php.
Although svnbot works with Jabber only, it's still possible to set it up to notify those who are using alternative IM networks such as ICQ, MSN, AIM, etc. To do this, you will need to find an appropriate Jabber -> legacy network gateway, register with the gateway of your choice, and then add users to your SVNBot contact list. Once they are added, SVNBot will automatically detect and notify individuals you've added.
When using SVNBot, it is also possible to view sample output that showcases the revision changes made. An example of this would be:
[23:30:58] *** svnbot is Online [Ready to serve]
[23:32:12] < svnbot > =================================================
Revision 15 by weirdan: fixed paths to libs, made paths to repo and checkout configurable
--- M /trunk/index.php
=================================================
Overall, SVNBot is a reliable tool that can simplify the monitoring process for SVN repositories, making it ideal for managers and developers who want to stay up to date with code changes in a repository with minimal effort.
