Svninfo extracts file and revision information from the Subversion version control system.
This software package is designed to make this information readily available to users in an easy-to-use format. It is specifically designed for users who are working within the Subversion system. The information extracted from the expanded $Id: index.wml 1495 2005-10-03 10:35:31Z brucker $ string includes the filename, the revision number, the date and time of the last Subversion co command, and the name of the user who completed the action.
Each of these items is defined as a macro for easy access and manipulation. When updating a file, Subversion keywords must be incorporated to ensure accurate information is extracted. Additionally, the Subversion property for keyword expansion must be set to enable proper keyword processing by the software.
In the latest release, a bug resulting in an incorrect date for maximal revision (i.e. svnInfoMaxToday) has been remedied. This improvement ensures that users can rely on the software for accurate and up-to-date revision and file information. Overall, the svninfo project is an essential tool for anyone working with the Subversion revision control system, and its latest version provides even more functionality to make document version control as smooth and hassle-free as possible.
