SwingWT is a software implementation that provides the functionality of Swing and AWT APIs over SWT.
SwingWT boasts of a number of compelling features that make it an excellent choice for developers. Firstly, the software guarantees more responsive GUIs and faster starting times. It also consumes less RAM compared to other applications. Using the Swing API, developers can quickly create new applications, and existing Swing applications can be recycled without having to recode them. With SwingWT, developers can still reuse the mature Swing UI designers.
SwingWT can directly access SWT components through the API, which enables developers to mix and match components (Eclipse plugins with Swing!). Whether developing applications for desktop or mobile devices, SwingWT offers all desired platform benefits, including font sub-pixel decimation for LCD monitors (unavailable in Swing). Thanks to SwingWT, Linux distribution makers can distribute many existing Java/Swing applications that could previously not be shipped in a workable state.
SwingWT is an excellent implementation tool that comes loaded with numerous features. Some of the standout features include support for AudioClip, SWT 3.2, insulation from changes to the SWT APIs, and insulation from differences between SWT platforms. The software also offers a free implementation of Swing, which users can modify to suit their own unique requirements. Additionally, the software boasts of new Swing components such as JClosableTabbedPane, JCoolBar, and JTaskTrayItem, offering you the best of both worlds.
