This software provides an ANSI-BBS terminal for connecting to remote BBSs through the internet using telnet, rlogin, or SSH protocols.
You can find the *nix version of SyncTERM running using SDL, X11, or using curses. This program has full ANSI-BBS support and supports IBM low and high ASCII, including face graphics like "?" and "?", and card symbols such as "♥", "♦", "♣", and "♠", which many other terminals have issues with. However, the IBM characters may not work in curses mode, depending on the terminal being used.
With SyncTERM, you will also get access to phone books, multiple screen modes (80x25, 80x28, 80x43, 80x50, 80x60), ANSI Music (through the sound card, if available), Telnet, RLogin, SSH, and RAW connections. This program allows for auto-login with Synchronet RLogin, large scrollback, mouse-driven menus, copy/paste, and supports character pacing for ANSI animation, as well as the VT500 ESC[*r sequence, which allows dynamic speed changes.
Finally, it comes with 32 standard fonts and allows the BBS to change the current font and upload custom fonts. You can even create fonts for use with SyncTERM. So, if you're looking for a reliable and versatile ANSI-BBS terminal program, SyncTERM is the right choice for your needs.
