Tacos offers a component repository for Tapestry, enhancing the web application development framework.
The current alpha-4 release of tacos is a major milestone. It comes with full dojo integration and new effects parameters to link/form components, and general bug fixes and productionizing of new components. Developers can focus on using the following items:
Dojo Integration - This integration will improve the performance of the codebase by almost exclusively developing with dojo.
Ajax Libraries - Tacos also supports a variety of different client-side javascript libraries focused around ajax. These include dojo, prototype, script.aculo.us, and Rico.
This release has a lot of new features like the Dojo Widget, brand new components based on script.aculo.us, Comet component, new annotations, new binding prefixes and BeanForm. The BeanForm is one of the most important new features of Tacos as it is an all-in-one, flexible bean editor. This update offers complete compatibility with Tapestry 4.1.2.
Tapdoc, though not yet properly released from within tacos, offers a maven plugin for component reference generation. Overall, the Tacos library project is a great addition to any Tapestry developer's toolkit.
