The MediaFocus Satellite TV card can be operated seamlessly on Linux using this driver.
One of the key features of this driver is that it includes a satellite frequency table for xawtv, which includes the 18/14V and 22kHz settings within the frequency values. While this is certainly functional, the implementation could be less than ideal. To that end, the driver's creators have proposed two possible future ioctls for the v4l-API that they believe could improve the experience for users.
It's worth noting that this driver was specifically written for the ZR36120/ZR36125-based MediaFocus Sat-PC card. If you have the newer version of the MediaFocus card, which is based on the Philips SAA 7146 multimedia-chip, you'll want to head to the official TechniSat MediafocusII website to download the driver for that particular card. Overall, if you're in need of a reliable and high-quality driver for your MediaFocus card on Linux, this one is definitely worth your consideration.
