Teepeedee is a personal server that offers quick HTTP(S) and FTP services through a single thread.
One of teepeedee's standout features is its support for most of the draft-ietf-ftpext-mlst-16.txt FTP extensions, as well as EPRT, EPSV, AUTH TLS, and HTTP 1.1 persistent connections. This makes it a highly versatile choice for various file serving needs.
Compared to vsftpd, teepeedee stands out as being 20% faster for 512 transfers, and it may even scale better as the number of transfers rises. However, both servers may not saturate the link, so it's possible that the issue is with the wget clients or something that hasn't been tweaked in the network stacks of the two machines.
For single CPU boxes, teepeedee is a great choice due to its single-threaded design. However, vsftpd may have an advantage on multiprocessor boxes. It's worth noting that it would be fairly easy to get teepeedee to fork enough times to exploit multiple processors, but this hasn't been tested on an SMP box.
In this latest release, there have been updates to the license and the inclusion of a manpage. Overall, teepeedee is a highly efficient and versatile file server that's definitely worth considering.
