Tgauge software provides gauge-style graphical display of lm_sensor readings on GNOME, ROX panels, and windows.
Tgauge takes its name from the temperature gauge, as it was initially designed to monitor CPU temperature. This tool can be run in a window, but it's truly intended for easy use on a panel. Tgauge supports both the Gnome version 2 and ROX panels, so it is easily accessible to people with diverse desktop set-ups.
To install tgauge, simply download the applicable package from the provided Sourceforge files page. Depending on your set-up, you may need to compile it. If you're using ROX, this process will likely happen automatically the first time you run the program from the ROX filer. For Gnome, enter './configure --prefix=/usr', 'make' and 'make install' into the terminal before adding the applet to your panel via the menu.
To use tgauge, you'll need to make sure that you have lm_sensors and GTK+ 2, along with all its relevant dependencies, such as glib 2 and libpanel-applet2, and the dependencies that are required if you want to use the Gnome applet version of tgauge.
Some new features that have been added to the most recently released version of tgauge include the implementation of a better default tooltip for thermal zone gauges, as well as a fix to the version and date data in the Rox AppInfo.xml.
