This Firefox add-on lets you play games while continuing to browse without interruption.
With the game HUD toolbar in Firefox, players can engage in web wars with each other, find items and currency on ordinary sites, and play as if they were in a massive multiplayer online RPG game. Moreover, clicking around the web is now linked to experience points and virtual money.
In the Nethernet, there's a never-ending battle between Order and Chaos that rages on online. And by playing the internet, you can choose which side to join and use your weapons to wage information warfare in your browser.
The beauty of the Nethernet is that you can play it on Facebook, LiveJournal, YouTube, World of Warcraft sites, Flickr, Wikipedia, Boing Boing, Google, XKCD, Twitter, Amazon, MySpace, lolcats, and pretty much anywhere else that you enjoy spending time online.
As you level up, other players will see your items across the entire web, and you can both trick them and help them. It's like a constantly evolving, entirely mutable alternate layer that sits atop the existing web.
The Nethernet, formerly known as Passively Multiplayer Online Game or PMOG, is still in beta and continuously improving. So whenever you come across issues, don't hesitate to provide feedback on their site. Keep checking back, and see how the game has evolved.
