This software is a Micropolis clone offering a similar city-building simulation game experience.
For those who are new to Micropolis, it is a city-building simulation game developed by Don Hopkins. This game is based on the original source code of the famous game SimCity, which was generously donated to the One Laptop per Child (OLPC) project by Electronic Arts, featuring a free and open-source software under version 3 of the GNU General Public License in January 2008.
Micropolis started from the X11 version of SimCity for the Unix Operating System. But, there are two versions of it; the first one has a Tcl/Tk User Interface that can be used on OLPC, run on any Linux or Mac OS X system with X11, or function as a port for OpenBSD. On the other hand, the second version's user interface is built using Python code that utilizes Cairo to draw graphics and Pango to draw text.
Additionally, the simulation's C core used in the game underwent significant restructuring and reworking with C++ code that's not only cross-platform but independent of the user interface and scripting language. TinCity software is created explicitly to provide a better understanding of the magnificent game, Micropolis.
