Tracker Tools is a C-based toolset for managing the TrackerPod camera by granting control over its rotation.
It is important to note that the drivers described on this page do not have any official support from Eagletron or their affiliates. However, Eagletron has linked to this page (or the freshmeat project page) in the past. Despite this, we are not affiliated with, do not support or endorse Eagletron or encourage the purchase of their products in any way. Similarly, the drivers and software are still in development and may not be fully functional. Hence, using these drivers is entirely at your own risk, but so far, there haven't been any reports of trackerpod damage due to this software.
Additionally, despite our best efforts, we were not able to obtain any support from Eagletron to continue developing this driver. We believe this reluctance is driven by a for-profit business model that usually limits the potential scope of independently developed user applications. However, if enough people contact Eagletron and politely request support for this project, it may be possible to get their help.
Lastly, there are a few things to keep in mind while using Tracker Tools. Firstly, the driver only works on the 2.4 kernel series and needs updating for the 2.6 kernel series. Secondly, the powerpod runs a version 1.6 firmware which the driver does not support. As such, those using it may need to find an alternative solution.
Overall, Tracker Tools is a useful set of tools for controlling the TrackerPod camera base, and those interested in using it should understand its limitations and potential risks.
