Turtle Kevux is a Linux-based distribution and the first system of Kevux, offering advanced features and services for an improved user experience.
However, after creating many different systems, the size of the system became too huge, requiring around 6-Gigabytes of space. The creator decided to switch to the 2.6 kernel from the ever-so-stable 2.4 kernel, but this resulted in more issues. As such, a new system design was put together around a new libc, which was to be called Turtle Linux. The local Linux users group then decided that the system should be called Kevux instead. The creator did not refuse the name and even grabbed three domain names for it.
To differentiate between Linux and Kevux, the creator renamed it to Kevux Linux Systems. The goal of this system is to simplify the structure of the entire system, reduce the size of all code on the system, allow for easy parsing of data for both users and programs, and let users fully change how the system is and works according to their preferences. The Turtle Kevux Live CD boots to a live system and contains tkis scripts, barebone documentation, a fully functional workstation, and servers.
The Turtle Kevux DVD contains everything in the Live CD, as well as the entire source archive of every program used and installed. Overall, Kevux aims to create a unique user experience that is not bound by the conventions of other operating systems.
