Unarc software enables convenient unpacking of archives directly into their corresponding directories.
Unarc also allows for uniform archiving of directories into tarfiles, zipfiles, and any other filetype of your choice. With its flexible support for different filetypes and archivers, you can easily add support for new types when needed.
To use Unarc, simply specify the filename(s) you wish to unpack and let Unarc select the appropriate archiver to use. Additionally, the companion program, arcdir, can be used to archive each directory individually.
To install Unarc, copy the program to somewhere in your PATH and library archive_types.pl to your Perl library directory. If you're unsure of where Perl looks for libraries, run 'perl -e 'print "$_n" foreach @INC'' to find out. If necessary, install the program pip before attempting to unpack esoteric archive types.
In the latest release, a possible infinite loop was fixed when unpacking on select systems. With its user-friendly interface, support for multiple archives, and easy installation, Unarc is a great choice for anyone in need of an efficient archive manager.
