Universe of LIFE is a software that simulates the 3D reproduction behavior of microorganisms. Users can freely select reproduction rules, incremental width and output time of generations, and find new rules and graphics with a shape course feature.
Universe of LIFE offers a range of features to make the experience more comfortable and customizable for the user. The graphic dialog-side presents various possibilities that allow for output-mode selection, color-palette customization or even the alteration of cell size.
Moreover, the generations dialog-side empowers the user to determine the width and time of the indicated generations, and even allows them to tweak the arithmetic-rule as they see fit. With the settings on the shapes dialog side changing constantly with the incorporation of complex calculation rules, intricate microorganisms start to emerge, making the experience even more fascinating.
Another captivating feature of Universe of LIFE is the search dialog side, where users can look for new and intriguing life-forms. The colors- and palette-dialog-side adds an extra level of depth as you can influence the color-like look of the generations throughout the game course.
You can access further details about the game mechanics and settings by using the context-help in the dialog-forms or the content-button in the help-application. However, Universe of LIFE also allows you to manipulate the current generation directly. By choosing 'cell-input' in the Universe of LIFE menu or pressing the F2-key, you can place the cursor with the mouse or cursor-buttons to modify the game-field position.
You can either remove an existing cell or create a new one in an empty-field, by using the left mouse-button or enter-key. The input-plane can be selected using the mouse-wheel or the a- and s-button of the keyboard. Finally, the status bar keeps you updated by showing the cell-coordinates for additional control.
