URL Link software enables the opening of non-URLs in a web browser, providing users with greater flexibility when accessing content online.
When it comes to email links, URL Link does more than simply redirect broken links found in the message. It also replaces any spaces in the link with the URL character code so you can follow network 'file:' links with ease. This is particularly useful for detecting links from Windows X: or servdir references.
With URL Link, web page links are also easily clickable. Select any textual links found in web pages or edit boxes, and watch as they open in your browser as if they were real links. And because URL Link analyses mailto: links, it can even convert them (e.g., mailto:[email protected] to [email protected]). When it comes to javascript: links that would otherwise generate a pop-up, URL Link can also "follow" them for you.
One great feature of URL Link is its support for multiple languages. Thanks to the team at BabelZilla, there are currently more translations than we care to list here. Another feature is its preferences dialogue, which offers customisation options for the 'not a proper URL' sub-menu. This means you can add locale-specific conversions like 'www.*.co.uk'.
Further updates are in the pipeline, including a prefs. dialogue for custom search and replace strings. This could be used, for example, to convert Windows driver letters to a specific path for Linux users. Overall, URL Link is a must-have if you want to optimize your browsing experience and improve your email productivity.
