User Manager is an add-on to Mac OS X System Preferences' Accounts pane, created to assist small home networks.
With User Manager, you can manage Unix group memberships using its drag-and-drop user- and group-centric interfaces. This tool is primarily intended for use with small home networks that don't require the enterprise-grade strength of Mac OS X Server. However, it's not intended to handle thousands of users or replace the Server Manager application found in Mac OS X Server. It's worth noting that User Manager does not support editing 'managed client' (MCX) attributes, a la the Limitations tab in the Accounts system preference pane. Apple does not publish these APIs.
This release of User Manager has several new features, including universal binary support, updated help for proper display on OS X 10.4, and minor updates to Help content. Additionally, this release has initial support for undo. It's essential to note that this feature is still a work in progress and may not work as expected in all cases.
It's worth mentioning that this version of User Manager does not have fully implemented support for some features, including the same unimplemented features as Version 0.2.0. Therefore, same as Version 0.2.2, there are several known issues, including that undo support is not fully implemented. This release of User Manager requires OS X 10.4. Any use on OS X 10.3 is not supported. For OS X 10.3, users should use Version 0.2.2.
