The USF FlashMob Live CD software is created by FlashMobComputing.org.
The source code for the FlashMob ISO image is organized into several directories, including the kernel, fmtools, mpi, blas, and hpl. Kernel contains the patched and modified Linux kernel (2.4.25) that the Live CD uses, along with kernel modules added to the CD. Fmtools include the code that runs the FlashMob programs. The mpi directory provides the source for the MPI implementations on the CD, which are unmodified versions of LAM-MPI and LAMPI. The blas directory contains the source of the ATLAS BLAS libraries that they used, and hpl includes the modified HPL versions used on the CD.
At present, there is no documentation on how to build a FlashMob CD, but developers can take a look at the morphix scripts in fmtools. These scripts provide ways to "unpack" and "pack" a FlashMob CD. Overall, USF FlashMob RC4 is an excellent Live CD for running flash mobs, and the addition of source code only makes it more useful for developers.
