UTM is a billing system designed for Internet Service Providers of all sizes. It effectively accounts for network traffic in both small offices and large ISPs with numerous subscribers.
The system consists of several modules, which together allow the accounting for various services, including IP-traffic, dial-up, VPN, VoIP, hotspot, and many others. In addition, UTM database backends may be MySQL or PostgreSQL, and the database possesses an elaborate structure in which users may have multiple personal accounts, currencies, various services, and accompanying data.
An adjustable traffic classifier makes it possible to set different rates for different types of Internet services, and the user web-interface is customizable thanks to XSLT technology. The administrator and the user interface are easily translatable into any language.
UTM receives statistics about running network traffic in NetFlow format among others. It also includes a utility (NDSAD) to capture statistics at the server. The software is compatible with various operating systems ranging from Windows (NT, 2000, XP, 2003), Linux, FreeBSD, to Solaris SPARC.
UTM is certified by the Russian Federation Ministry of Communications and successfully introduced into more than 1500 ISP and telecom companies worldwide. The software supports a wide range of services, including broadband Internet connections, dial-up connections (including prepaid cards), hotspots, e-mail, web hosting, POTS, and VoIP.
UTM also comes embedded with security features such as VPN support, IP-MAC Control, and Automatic Firewall Management. It is compatible with a range of network hardware, including Netflow & Cisco IP accounting compatible hardware, Linux/FreeBSD/Windows based PC routers, and any other appropriate device.
In summary, the UTM software is packed with useful and efficient features that can benefit ISPs and telecom companies in managing their services.
