Vdrepg is an application that creates an HTML formatted Electronic Program Guide (EPG) from VDR data, with added search functionality.
The usage of vdrepg.jar involves specifying various arguments and options. The command line should be in the following format: java [-Dvdrepg.color] [-Dvdrepg.columns=n] [-Dvdrepg.style=file] [-Dvdrepg.search] -jar vdrepg.jar
The command-line arguments that need to be specified include channels, data, and timers. For channels, the channels.conf file, which defines the sorting order for the channels, is required. Only the channels defined here are included. The effective channel numbers should match VDR's to avoid user confusion. Data requires the epg.data file from VDR, and timers need timers.conf from VDR.
Options are set as system properties and specified with -D< property > or -D< property >=< value >. The vdrepg.color option results in the use of colored cells without borders in tabular listings. vdrepg.columns=n produces tables with n columns instead of the default 5, and vdrepg.style=file makes use of the specified stylesheet instead of the default one. With vdrepg.search, you can include the search/record facility (see README.search).
The output, written to the current working directory, will create necessary subdirectories. Overall, vdrepg project can effectively process VDR's EPG data into an HTML format with search capabilities, making it a worthwhile software application for VDR users.
