Vidigi is an easy-to-use image viewer developed in C++ with QT4 framework.
Being a developer who primarily works on Windows, the Windows binary was tested extensively for optimal performance. However, Vidigi provides a Linux binary for convenience, but its compatibility with other distros cannot be fully guaranteed. In case contributors want to build a version for other operating systems, they can communicate their interest.
Vidigi can handle popular image formats such as bmp, jpg, png, mng, xpm, and others. Although, due to licensing restrictions, Vidigi's version below is unable to process GIF images. Using QT's built-in image handling, the addition of a QT image plugin for a specific file type will extend Vidigi's support for that file type. As of writing, the Linux build of QT4 natively supports GIF format, whereas the GIF plugin for QT/Win is still under development.
The developer is continuously working on enhancing the features of Vidigi, and future releases are expected to include drag and drop support, GIF support for Windows, and other compatible image formats.
As the software is licensed under GPL, anyone can take a look at the source code and modify it according to their preferences. This is the developer's first significant C++ and QT project, so the users are advised to be lenient when reviewing the app.
To use Vidigi, it's necessary to install Qt4.
