CaminoPDF is a free software script that allows users to open PDF files directly from the current Camino URL, providing easy and convenient access to important documents.
This script is particularly useful for those looking to view PDF files temporarily, as the PDF will only open in Preview and will not be saved on your computer unless you choose to leave it in the trash indefinitely. Simply right-click on a PDF link and choose "Copy Link Location" from the contextual menu to get the URL of the PDF on your clipboard.
View PDF File will act on any URL copied to the clipboard, whether it points to a PDF or some other kind of file. If the URL is for an image, clicking "Copy Image Location" will open the download in your default image viewing/editing application before it is trashed.
Installation is easy: just unzip the script and copy it to the path "~/Library/Scripts/Applications/Camino/" (with the tilde representing your home folder) and create any necessary subfolders. The script will appear under a "Camino Scripts" heading in your system-wide Script menu when Camino is the frontmost application. In Camino 1.6 or later, you can even place the script on the Camino toolbar by dragging it from the "Customize Toolbar" drop-down sheet. Try View PDF File today and enjoy a more efficient way of viewing PDF files on your Mac.
