Vsdump is a tool developed by the ALT Linux project for reverse engineering the VSD/VSS file format, used for storing graphics, diagrams, and flowcharts.
In terms of coding, Vsdown leverages Jody Goldberg and Morten Welinder's works. The code is currently considered a set of testing utilities that support a format researching process. Additionally, it serves as some kind of documentation. At the moment, the tool can dump version 6 (Visio 2k) and 11 (Visio 2k2 and 2k3) files to something almost but not entirely unlike the XML. When images are embedded, they will be stored in separate files. Text, at least latin-1, will also be recognizable in the 'drawing' dump file.
