WBHost is an extended software tool serving as a wrapper for the Microsoft WebBrowser control. It inherits all events, properties and methods of the WebBrowser control and adds its own features to enhance user experience.
WBHost comes with numerous capabilities which include intercepting and modifying messages displayed by WebBrowser, disabling script error messages, forbidding viewing of HTML page source code, modifying or disabling context menus, and changing drag-and-drop feature behavior. Additionally, it can call internal methods of your application from HTML scripts as well as disable text selection on HTML pages.
WBHost also has the ability of removing scrollbars or changing the way they look, applying a cascade style sheet (CSS) from an application to the HTML page being displayed, and specifying individual settings for the instances of the WBHost objects. You can intercept the specified key combinations and process them the way you need, cancel downloading from the server and displaying images, videos, or playing background music, or cancel downloading and executing ActiveX objects. Moreover, WBHost can disable scripts and Java applets and switch WebBrowser to the offline mode.
There is more to WBHost as it can download the content of an HTML page from a text string without using an intermediate file on the disk. This feature adds value to the software as it is possible to display HTML pages stored in a database or generated dynamically from other data or from the results of database queries. Overall, WBHost is an efficient software with a range of options that cater to your HTML editing needs.
