WebCalendar is a software designed to manage a calendar for one person or a company's internal team via the internet.
The application includes a wide range of features that make it stand out from other calendar apps on the market. For example, WebCalendar can be used as a schedule management system for either a single person or a group of people, with one or more assistants being able to manage the calendar of another user.
WebCalendar also supports a number of different languages, with 30 in total. Additionally, the application's interface is compliant with both XHTML and CSS standards. Users can view calendars by day, week, month, or year, and can also view other users' calendars or add/edit/delete users and events.
In terms of customization options, WebCalendar supports configurable custom event fields, user-configurable preferences for colors, 12/24 time format, and Sun/Mon week start. Other features include online help, checks for scheduling conflicts, email reminders for upcoming events, and email notifications for new/updated/deleted events.
WebCalendar also supports importing and exporting events to and from various formats, including iCalendar, vCalendar, and Palm. The application includes options for general access, allowing anyone to view the calendar without logging in, and users can make their calendars available publicly for anyone with an iCalendar-compliant calendar app.
Publishing of free/busy schedules is also supported, and the application includes RSS support that puts a user's calendar into RSS (WebCalendar 1.1+). Users are able to subscribe to "remote" calendars in either iCalendar or hCalendar formats (WebCalendar 1.1+).
Finally, WebCalendar includes several user authentication options, including Web-based, HTTP, LDAP, or NIS, and requires MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, DB2, Interbase, or ODBC. All in all, an impressive array of options for the discerning calendar app user.
