WebTst is software designed for testing the infrastructure of Web development.
But that's not all. WebTst also supports cookie handling, HTTP authentication, concurrency testing, digital certificates, and several other types of testing. Its simple tests include cookie setting, pattern matching, and response status. What's more, it introduces the concept of result analyzer components for maintaining smoke and regression test suites.
In its latest release, WebTst has undergone several major bug fixes, which makes upgrading highly recommended for existing users. For example, the software now supports XML::Dumper 0.4 and above (backwards compatibility) and has an upgrade script to facilitate this. Furthermore, the software has resolved issues related to interceptor responses, such as content transfer chunking, and status-100 handling.
Other notable fixes in this update include the reworking of post-body content storage for binary data types and changes to the dashboard interface to enable the downloading and viewing of post bodies. Additionally, the interceptor now properly captures HTTPS hostnames, while a minor tweak was made to the playback_results directory location when running multiple recordings via suiteRunner.pl.
