Weeblog is a simple blog tool that uses XML/XSL and only requires CGI/Perl.
The directory structure of Weeblog is simple and clear. Articles are stored in the /articles folder as XML files. Public scripts are located in /pub, currently only featuring the archive-viewer script. However, private scripts such as article and comment submission are located in /priv and require htaccess authorization. A rich text editor for article submission called /priv/rte is included by default. This feature can be swapped out for other options such as TinyMCE.
The XSL stylesheet for the theme and theme media are stored in /themes. Theme customization is required for Weeblog to work properly. At the very least, the user must set the BLOGURL parameter for the theme to work.
Weeblog is easy to install and only requires write access to the articles and installation directory to function. Overall, Weeblog is an efficient solution for those looking for a simple yet fully functional blog engine.
