WhiteLarge is a cursor theme that has been ported from "Extra Large" Windows icons to X11. The cursor set is suitable for those with visual impairment or larger screens.
Installation is simple for Gnome and other systems, requiring only the unzipping of the file and moving the folder "whitelarge" to ~/.icons/. Then add the following lines to your ~/.Xdefaults file:
Xcursor.theme: whitelarge
Xcursor.size: 36
Finally, log off to complete the installation.
KDE users can also easily install WhiteLarge by following the same steps for moving the folder to ~/.icons/ and selecting the "whitelarge" theme in the KDE mouse-configuration-dialog. Again, log off to complete the installation.
Ubuntu users have a slightly different installation process where they are required to move the folder to ~/.icons/ and open the gconf editor. Then, change the key /desktop/gnome/peripherals/mouse/cursor_theme to "whitelarge" before logging off to complete the installation.
This latest release of WhiteLarge has seen some updates, including a rework of the drop shadows resulting in perfect shadows, and an increase in cursor size from 32 to 36. Overall, WhiteLarge is a great choice for anyone looking for a simple and large white mouse theme for their Linux system.
